Keep a pair of kitchen shears with you for trimming bait, when fishing live bait of good size ( gills and chubs in the 6 to 10 inch range) trim the pectoral fin from ONE side and trim the tail fin close to the body. I normaly trim it in a point, this will make the fish swim in an erradic circle and attract more cats with its "injured" actions
