Catfish tournament rules

1. All local and state laws are in effect.

2. Catch must be by rod and reel. Jugging and noodling will not be allowed.

3. This is a 3 fish tournament. All catfish species will be allowed. No mimimum size required.

4. All fish to be weighed in must be alive. This means gills must move on their own.

5. 7:00 P.M. is start time. 7:00 A.M. is weigh in time. Anyone not back by 7:00 A.M. will be disqualified. The weigh master and myself will be fishing also, so don't expect us back early.

6. Trailering is allowed. If at any point, you need to trailer your boat to get to unaccessible areas because of high water, you may do so. You must, however, fish High Rock Lake only.

7.No fishing within 150 ft. of another boat. Use your discretion, 150 ft. looks different to different people.

8. Please be curtious to all spectators and others who may be using the ramp. I am sure their will be other tournaments leaving from the boat access area.

9. Please remember to use your boating/navigation lights at all times during dark hours.

10. All participants will have to sign a waiver to fish this event.

Some people will be on channel 68 on vhf radio if needed. My cell number is 336-596-2391 if anyone needs assistance during the tournament.

Does anyone see any rules that need to be added or ammended? I will hand these out when you register.

My edit button is missing, so I will make additions here. The entry fee is $40.00 per boat. We will pay back 100% over 3 places. 1st-50%, 2nd-30%, 3rd-20%. Please tell anyone who may want to fish it to come. We now have about 10 boats in, and possibly more. If you guys want to get up a side pot for big fish of $5 or $10, I will hold that money for you guys too. Just didn't put it in as a requirement, as some may not want to do it.

We just got back from trying out a couple new spots. I can tell you that a tournament would not be won from any of the spots we tryed. LOL. Guess we'll go with the old spots on Friday night. If things change Rookie12, come join us.

I have the same confusion. We only caught small ones last night. 1 blue, 1 channel, 1 flathead. Hopefully tomorrow will bring better luck.

Missed it by a whisker..... a fine catch....87 lbs I believe. Carolina fisherman will post the exact results. I enjoyed it fellows....learned alot of patience last night..we struggled all night with small fish here and there...finally put a plan together in the last hour and pulled out our two best fish of the night with 15 minutes to go. Got to love that hard fought battle to get that last minute fish in the livewell. the highs and lows of tourney fishing.

O yea...Im not suppose to tell this...but one spot we fished...my partner casted his line out into a spot he hand picked before dark...well...we fished there for 30-45 minutes and he realized his bait never made it to the water ...seemed it had got hung on a board sticking out of the pier and wasnt even in the water. He said heck I shouldnt of even said anything...I dont know what he was referring to because I am the real quiet type.
