YC, same story as years past. We fish a lake called Stick Marsh (catch and release lake). The lake is a shallow 6 mile by 2 mile rectangle that is mostly 3 to 7 feet deep throughout, except for a few trenches dug here and there. There are no windbreaks, so if the wind blows it is almost unfishable because of waves. There are a lot of stumps just out of and just under water that my boat loves to ride up on and can be really hard to get off of because of the ribs on the bottom of my boat. The first day was great with my brother catching 20 bass between 3 and 7 pounds and I caught a dozen with my biggest 8 pounds 4 ounces. I have yet to catch that elusive 10 pounder. The 2nd day was difficult because the wind picked up and we came home the 3rd day because the wind was suppose to really pick up. But like I said, it was great just getting to spend some quality time with my older brother, thanks for asking.

An 8lber is nothing to sneeze at. Like Buck said that's a great bass anywhere. I've always wanted to fish Stick Marsh. I love those kinda shallow "flippin" type lakes. What were you catching them on?
On topic, congrats YC on the personal best blue cat. Keep it up and you'll be breaking that PB in no time

Here's some pics of my 8lb4oz bass, Todd's 7 and his 9lber from last year and 1 of the many gators we saw. We caught them all on live shiners. I know the picture of my 8lber looks smaller than his 7, but we weighed them (you can see the scales in 1 photo), just shows how photos can be deceiving.

Thanks for sharing them pic Ted. I loved see that cork run back under the lilly pads and setting the hook on them. Those bass down there has got balls. They will hit a shinner bigger than they are.

Nice looking fish. That does look like a big lake according to the back ground on that one picture. Kind of remind you of santee.
