So let me get this right. You saying use a point system setup for 20 teams. Starting with 200 pts for 1st place and counting down from there 10 pts per position. I think we need to stop it at 50pts to every team that competes without a weigh in.(just for showing up) I like this system because more teams will be willing to weigh in to gain them extra points. Then add 10pts for big fish of each event.
Example from last week 1)Jerry/Frogman 200 + 10 =210 2)catfish 190 3)gearhead 180 4) pier preasure 170 5)cathunter 160 6)steve chandler 150 7)whoever 50 8)whoever 50 9) Tomahawk 48.2

i see what you are saying about rewarding the ones that show up. but giveing them something for not weighing is not fair to the ones that earned there points by weighing in. iam i thinking right or do i need to go to bed and rest up so i can net them fish cmj going to catch sat. and i also like your 9th place finisher micheal. thats funny

Yea I like the number 48.2
save me some bounty money this year with that number. Well the 50 points would be sign up points...not a real advantage over anyone except the ones that didnt show up.

Guys you know the good thing about the points system. It levels out all lakes as being one. All the tourneys would be worth the same amount reguardless of which body of water or what the weather conditions are for that given day compared to any other tourney day...I really like this points deal.

Its sounds good but whats wrong with using the exact pounds that you caught and thats all with out the muligan and without sign up points. Just real simple .Then looking back you know what weights of fish everyone caught on a given event.Thats a no B.S. points system . I don't see the difference except alot more math involved.
Im not trying to start no trouble man . JMO

Well gearhead...you whipped the piss out of us at badin with that first stringer this year. With a two fish limit...its just hard to overcome one event domination for anybody. Now you being a race fan...everybody gets a fresh start from one race to the next kind of think but you carry on them points from race to race. The way it is now...same man set on the pole at every race from the first one.
Kind of like last year when I had 82.6lbs and you came to the scales in second place with 40. Gaining 40lbs over the next 5 events would of been tuff with a two fish limit. We could back up one event and I would of been the champion....just over that one event. So we just testing here for cat of tomorrow.![]() Thats why we looking at the points system....give everybody a fresh start from event to event. I will still post the weigh in numbers in the results. |

only thing I dont like about points for weight, you could have a trip like mike last winter that netted him 2 near 50 lbs on two fish limit, if thats at first tournement you would surely have a very wide lead, when in actual it was a good day for him for sure but should it carry over to the next tournement? I dont know if mike is bringing back the bounty money next year but that could be aimed at a catch like mike had that day. Tournements arent on optimal days most times so a rare catch could decide tournement for the year. you got no worries gearhead, your Mr. Consistency.

I understand the good day big weigh in but ain't that what all of us are trying to do to each other every event . We all are fishing the same water on the same day. I would like to have 100 lb weigh in's every event and you guys only catch 2 bullheads for 6 pounds

I know what you saying gearhead and I would agree if we had a 5 fish limit. I think we need to level the playing field from one event to the next. The way it is now...one big day could win the championship. I think the points deal is the way to go here. It would bring more fish to the scales also. Last week we had teams with 30 lbs of fish that didnt even weigh in. Those two bull heads could be worth 50-80 points with the point system for that team. The points system would be won off whoever had the best overall finishes out of the 6 events and not so much about one days catch. It still takes big fish to get those finishes. We got time but thanks for the responses...I figured it was best to talk now while things was fresh on everyones mind.

10/4, I know it will be fair and fun anyway the points system is. Also I was talking with some participants and the majority that I talked to seemed to wish that there was as set blastoff time unless bad weather delayed us . I know at one of the tournaments some guys were still eating at the store thinking blast off was at 7.00 am. And we blasted off early cause of good conditions. I noticed they haven't fished with us again since. Some of the guys travel from long distances to fish with us and kind of need to plan there logistics accordingly.Last tourney my cousin was thinking he had plenty of time. He dosen't have a computer so he gets most his info second hand. I had a guy Jeffery Frye from Raliegh wishing i could give him a set time.I don't know just thought I let you guys know of the only complaint that I have heard this whole series.
Thanks

10/4 on the time issue...I know we missed a few teams this year because of that also. I know one team we about missed saturday that knows the blast off sechule too...so either way you go...somebody is going to be late.
I personally like the early blast offs but Im open for opinions. We can work on setting a time if you fellows want too.

set a time to be signed in . say if its going to be day light around 6.45 . say you have to be signed in by 6.30. the ones that dont have a pc. tell them to call me and ill tell them what time sign in is for that week. if people want to fish these tx they will be there on time with bait .

Now if we are going to keep it small and mostly for fun then I agree we don't need a set blast of time. I kind of forgot some of the fun part .Its my competive nature I quess
. I just feel there would be less confusion .I know one time me and Jerry were sitting side by side at Badin all confused on if we had blasted off or not with all the other boat traffic that morning.
