went fishing on the ohio last night with a buddy who was using chickin livers mixed with strawberry jello he outfished me 7 ways till sunday. so i snooped around the net for recipes. alot of them used red jello so could someone tell me what is with the jello ??????? and why does it seem to work . i forgot to say i was using creek chubs ,and blue gill ![]()

the jello seems to work real well for channel cats it makes the liver tougher and gives it more of a sweet scent the kitty's seem to like it hope this helped.

Yep the immature cats under 10 lbs are scavengers for the most part and partake in a number of vegetables and fruits,berrys and nuts...so putting a Bananna on the hook and slinging it out aint all that far fetched....beat him at his own game next time with Earls Secret recipe or cherry jello and chicken breast, or grape night crawlers, or bananna crawdads

thanks for rhe info. i dont fish for small cat much, so i thought i would give it a try bought 2 pks liver put jello in one , the other one regular, to compare and the jello won hands down. there has to be something in the jello ??? any how had a blast. largest cat was just over 11# try that on light tackle!!!! just as much fun as catching big flats

I have used garlic powder on many things and it works too.Even Big blues Like the smell of garlic,supposed to be the same as blood to them.
Good luck,11lbs is nice on light tackle,had a 8 lb striper on a minnow last summer,now that was a blast.4lb test. Thanks Captain Bill |

Chicken or Turkey livers soaked in Shad flavor YUM seems to work well
