Default A little off subject for here but I felt like passing it on

As some of you know we had an 8 year old autistic boy (he is mute) who was lost in the North Anna Battlefield a few weeks ago. He was found after 5 full days in the woods which was very dense with treacherous terrain. Thousands of people volunteered to search for him. There were professional search teams with divers to search the river, dogs and horses, etc. Many businesses provided food and other supplies. There was a great outpouring of support from the community.

Robert was found by a person who wished to remain anonymous because he wanted God to receive all the glory. This is a little more information that was shared last night at Community Bible Study by a man who is a firefighter and has access to credible information.

The person who found Robert was not a part of the search teams. He is a 65 year old man. He woke up and told his wife that God had awakened him 3 times in the night to go and find this boy. So... he went to Bass Pro Shop here in Hanover county to buy clothes to wear in the woods. He told the cashier that he was on a mission from God to find the boy. He googled the map of the battlefield and seclected a road where he thought he should start his search. He went to the location, parked his truck, walked several hundred yards, crossed over a fence, and walked into a ravine where he found Robert. After putting gloves on Robert and giving him water, he called 911. The police were amazed but somewhat skeptical. They brought in the dogs who tracked the man's scent along the route he said he had taken, they checked out his story with Bass Pro Shop ( they verified it), and they went to the man's house to talk to his wife. She was alarmed when they showed up at her door, but when they asked where her husband was, she told them the story he had shared with her that morning and stated that he had gone to look for the boy.

The Hanover County officials were amazed; the sheriff said in the news conference that God does answer prayer and that miracles still happen.

What a testimony to the faithfulness of God!! Now you know the rest of the story...

Great !! It's funny when you say off subject, I know what you mean, but it makes me think that doing things for God should be our main subject.

I would normally not say anything regarding religion on a catfish board, but since I was involved in searching for this boy and I don't believe is such stuff as posted, I leave this one thought and then I'll leave the message board......

He (your god) tortured the boy for 5 days before he (your god) decided to guide an old man to the boy's location?

And that's a good thing?!! He (your god) couldn't have done it Monday???

It just doesn't make 1 bit of sense at all...but I know religious people will find a way to turn it around so it does, they're good at that. The rest of us question WHY would someone with such power wait 5 days..... Would YOU if you were in such a position? What would you think of a person who waits 5 days before he tells someone the location of where the boy is??? I don't think anyone here would look up to such a person that would wait that long before "guiding" someone to find the boy...but here we are happy to honor such a action. Sorry not buying it for a minute.
And if I'm wrong...I'm wrong with moral value and I don't care what this god of yours thinks about my thoughts and actions...I know what's good and what's wrong and anyone who would have the power to guide someone to this child but doesn't for 5 days ......isn't good in my book at all.

Enough......I'm gone from here.

Good luck catfishing.....tight lines.

First;.I too was involved in the search, you see since I read the thread about the boy,I,my son and wife have been praying to "our GOD"every day and night that the boy would be found alive. And our GOD didn't torture the boy,Our GOD knew exactly where he was.
Second;,ask the boy if he is mad, that he was found five days later, ask Earl if he is mad,NOPE ,and they definitely ain't mad at there GOD.Praise GOD Earl.
Third; "Ain't buying it for a minute" In the BIBLE,"GODS WORD" it says in John 3;18,"He that believeth, is NOT condemned, but he that believeth NOT,is condemned already" .Our GOD dosn't condemn anyone, People can buy it or not buying, they have the right,

River Lizard.I don't know you,and you don't know me.But when I read the post,I had to say something, and all EARL was doing was praising "his GOD",and that would be mine too.And why would anyone blame GOD,god,or gods or man,on finding a boy that was missing for 5 days, GLORY TO GOD,,,,MY GOD,and EARL's

PS,To whom it may concern,,My GOD is a loving, caring almighty GOD.and with Thanksgiving coming up,I want to say THANK YOU GOD,for being so good to this DUMB ol'country boy,.............................good night ALL.

Being a former drunk and drug addict I can say that I believe there is a God. To say that you do not believe in God is claiming that you know for certain that there is no God and being able to make that claim makes one a God themselves. All knowing. I have never been able to make that claim so I choose to believe that there is a God and honor him in all things. To see the world and nature that surrounds us with so much beauty and not see that a Creator had to have been involved for me is hard to accept. It takes more faith to not believe than to believe. Sin that was introduced in the garden is the reason that that boy is autistic to start with. No failure on God,s part but on man. I am glad that young man was found and I am sure his family is very thankful. I do not know for a fact if this story is true or not, I do not know the facts but only what has been said but I do know this that I praised God that he was found with or without the story.

Quitting a board and dissing an entire group of people because you don't agree with them on one topic not related to catfishing? Where have I seen that before? Don't let the door hit your sorry a$$ on the way out.
