when fishing at night with live swimming baits (gills,chubs,eels) add a small lighted bobber, or lunker light to your leader line. this will draw the plankton in and there for the small bait fish will follow. the swimming bait will look like it is feeding and draw in the bigger cats

last year i started using soft glow beads that i got at cabelas rather cheaply. i put one or two right above the eye of the hook. i think it helps the flatheads find the bait. my catch rate is way up when using them as compared to not using them. caught my personal best 32.8 pound flathead last year using them in front of a big rock bass and lost one that was bigger a few minutes later.

I sure know the Green ones (submersible lights) really work well on Crappie in a Lake. Me and Jim Wore them out a few summers ago..
