Went to Tillery this morning , got 6 blues from 3 to 43 pounds. The bite was slow, but still a good morning on the water, the 43 pounder didn't want to come in the boat, he found one of my anchor ropes but I managed to get him up to the net...

43 pounder

Teamed up with livebaiter last night for some serious catfishing. We wasnt in for playing around so we hit all our honeys holes that we been hiding from you guys. The ones down below the trussel where Jerry and buck fished a few weeks back. We was able to get under the trussel bridge with the ol jet boat. Wait a minute Eric was we at Tillery or somewheres else...I forget so easy. Anyways ....I wouldnt count on him answering that. Back to the story we caught 10 blues last night. Top 5 fish weighed in at 202lbs!!!! We had a couple hogs in the line up for sure.

Started out with a 36 lber from live baiter

Then I rolled this little piglet out of her bed around 8.45 am this morning....57lbs

Then our state record holder said " man you in the hole back there"....lol. He said " next one you get ...let me have it"....lol. Well didnt take me long to forget about them thoughts...lmao. Well I noticed a little action taking place on one of my rods. I picked it and set the hook...ol' its another goodun!!!! I said get the net Eric! I turned to look at him and confirm its a good fish. Hes standing there with a like a possum wanting my rod. So being the nice fellow that I am...I let him have it and I got the net. Fish weighed out at 49lbs. True story here.

We had a blast last night. Im just glad Eric called me wanting to know if I was fishing yesterday. That all turned into the best fishing trip on lake Tillery for both of us this year. You cannot complain about a 40lb fish average out of 5 fish. Even our 10 fish average was over 30lbs ea. Awesome night on the water!!!

Teamed up with goodtimes yesterday and fished Tillery. We met up at the ramp around 5.30 and fished all day. First at the landing and the last to leave it last night. Thats dedication again. Finally caught some bait but it was tuff! Headed towards bucks trussel again and setup on boxcar number 3. Thats my favorite big fish spot. Dont take many folks to that spot but Goodtimes is a class act so I took him. I told him he had a good chance for a new PB out this hole. Whats he catch first...what else a new PB at 46lbs 2 ozs. Got to love it when a plan comes together! Well we fished on and I picked up a 28lber but only after loosing several nice fish. Remember my post about bigcatwannbe calling me and me giving him a hard time. Well it backfired on me yesterday. I done some missing yesterday. I had up sized my hook size and with the cold water temps and the cold hands setting the hooks....I just couldnt set the hook deep enough to hold on to em. Goodtimes hooked up with another hog after lunch yesterday. Nice fish...he couldnt do much with the fish and I told him to set the hook again because I knew it wasnt in. Goodtimes was caught up in one of them neutrsal positions...didnt want to give the fish any slack but couldnt set the hook any farther either. The fish came off after a brief fight but he got his bait back. He is carrying that bait around in his pocket today for the next tourney. He lost maybe the best fish of the day. Not his fault really though and he never lost the faith that another one was still out there. So we fished on. He wanted some eater for his dad for christmas and we caught 6-8 small 2-7 lb fish for him to take back to pop. Then we went back to trophy hunting right before dark. Goodtimes landed another 29lber on a special baited rod after dark. All in all a good day that could of been alot better. Goodtimes is a a super nice guy and I can now add him to my list of new folks I have fished with this year. Goodtimes I enjoyed it.

Ol yea just in case yal havent seen it. Goodtimes has got some pretty little green line on that new rod and reel.

Ps. goodtimes informed me that we didnt shake the scales with his fish after we released it. We did have to warm the battery up in the scales to get it to work though. Time for a new battery I believe.

Went yesterday and today. I had a really tough start yesterday. Long story short, I started fishing about 10:15 a.m. with all of 7 baitfish. Persistence is key...I ended up with a 3# channel, and 3 blues a 22, 35, and 38 lbs. The 38 hit while I was still messing with the 35 in the boat. Back to back pb's, fun way to finish up.

Today, CMJ and I went out for a while. Marked some good fish, but only got 4 in the 9-11 lb. range. It was great fishing with Jeff, again. Good friend and fisherman. But you all know that already.

Took my brother in law with me today. He hasnt been fishing with me in over a year. The bait was as tuff as it gets. Two gizzard shad and couple threadfins. It was scattered out really bad.....what was in there. Brother in law caught a 29lber after setting on one spot for over a hour without a nibble. Moved around a good bit afterwards searching but they just wasnt feeding for us. Should of checked the weather before I went but hey it was still fun.

Teamed up with livebaiter again last night. We hit the honey hole first....I caught a 46lber. Then the action died as fast as it started. Moved up river before daylight to try that....nothing but a channel cat and a couple white cats....moved back towards the honey hole later in the morning. Fish was still there ...just not biting. Stuck with them from 5.00 pm monday evening until 1.30 today and got one fish to show for our efforts. At least it was a nice one. We had to stop fishing because Eric said he couldnt tell what was bait and what was fingers on the butcher block. All I know is that was some nice bloody bait he cut up for us. We was dedicated weather the fish was or not! Water is starting to get muddy. Heres a couple shots of the 46. I left the back ground in them so you can see where we been fishing. I even stood up for one picture....see I share with you fellows.

I forgot to say ......IT WAS COLD OUT THERE ALL NIGHT!!!!!

Took the brother in law back out tonight for a few hours. He got a new PB at 38.lbs 4ozs. Ran into bigcatwannbe at the landing and he jumped us about a little side bet on big fish for the night....I figured I make short work of this and end my night at 8 hours since i had to work yesterday. I jumped right in on that one. I asked how much 5.00....he said better make it 6.00. I said okay.....game on. He was fishing with livebaiter. We anchored fairly close...I cast the first rod out...hollered over to them and said well thats 6.00 as the bait hit the water. Picked up another ...cast it out...holler over thats 12.00. I figured that would break both of them. They was setting on pins and needles over there....so I had to mess with them in the dark. I reached over set the ol clicker in gear and snatch the line while my brother in law hollered watch em! They couldnt take the preasure and had to move on us.....so we followed. Set up again and we had a little action with some small blues. Then hung up two of my rods and broke them off. While making up new leaders the brother in law said hey the rod behind you. I looked it was down and I set the hook and handed to the James. He was happy as crap over this fish. Shoot...I was too... that won us $12.00 cash! Of coarse our competion is still down at the lake working out the bugs on their catch. I left them a little note on the truck as to how we would like to have our moneys. Here is a picture of James with his 38.

I think somebody owes me $12 :2grin:But, I tell you what- I'll settle for $10 :2grin:We missed two other big fish- over all we had a great night. Well, Michael- I guess it's time to come down from that mountain...On you way down how about passing me $10

Pulled a all night last night with livebaiter. Fishing was slow but we still managed a good fish. Eric caught it after I set the hook and handed it to him. Fished weighed in at 43lbs. Tail is scratched...didnt mean to let that happen but it was cold last night the scales was froze up and we had to let the fish lay in the boat for a few minutes....so she got scratched while we was messing with the scales. I like to return them in the best possible conditions. Water yesterday in swift island...was 38. Today leaving at 12.30 part of the cove was iced over...so it got cold cold cold last night. I had a good heater and we looked like a cubby of quail around it...global warming at its finest. As I said the bite was really slow...maybe the water temp dropping so fast put the fish in the on hold mode. No bait in swift island...none! We had to improvise, adapt, and overcome on bait. Pleased to land what we did with the slow bite.

Mac & I put in around 4 PM @ Lily's Bridge, S wind 10 - 15 MPH & 58* main channel temp. After 2 hrs. searching we found some stripers in a lower end creek & put out a spread. Boat traffic was killing me, we had a few bites and boils on the boards right off. 2 fish before dark and both were blues, 13 lber on 9" trout, outside board w/a real short leash and a 10 lber on a freelined 8" herring 60' out, down lines didn't even get a sniff. Wind steadily decreased as darkness approached. I graphed more fish in the upper half of the water column, than the lower half the whole time I was there. Went looking for some deep bait to put out the hydro glow on and ended up in a creek channel that the walls close in tight on. The water is still a little dingy and the herring would not come to us. I think the water needs to clear a little more, before the light will really do it's thing. Herring are showing up on Badin and Tillery, mostly 4" size w/some slammer's in there w/them. Shouldn't be long before the 8-10"ers are plentiful on both lakes .

Thats pretty wierd, the blues were bitting on BAdin but not Tillery. I did notice something sat. Right after I caught that 48lber the winds shifted and I only got one bite after that. Thats what might of killed your fishing. Sometimes it the smallest things that turn them off.

Livebaiter and I fished last night at tillery...we ended up with 12 cats but things was slow with teh full moon. We found some fish before dark but nothing good...one teenager. Moved to another spot and I picked up a 43lb blue. Moved again to hole 51 per cracker Jack... picked up a dinker blue. Moved back to where I caught the 43 at right before daylight and Eric hooked up with a nice 35lb flathead and before we could get that fish back in the water...bam I hooked up with a 33lb 15 oz blue. The action was fast paced at the crack of light but end quickly. Had some juggers pull about 50 yard up river of us and start dumping out there jugs...that went over like a fart in a whirlwind with Eric.....lol. Next thing I know them Juggers was packing up and moving out....lol. It was stupid on their part to do that and they knew it and moved on....otherwise I would of took out everyone of their jugs with my 200 ft of anchor line out.....lol. Owell they was nice about it. Pictures are in the catfishrus online tourney thread tourney....not bad for a full moon...I reckon.

Good fish Mike. Call me when your butt gets out of bed tonight. I know you're sawing logs and drooling on yourself right now. Me and my buddy Pete got quite a few stripers on Norman last night and a few spots. Couldn't keep the blues off the bottom rods. They fight good over there. It makes these yadkin blues seem lazy or soemthing.
