Went to Tillery this morning, the day started out good, not long after I got all the rods out I got a 32 lb. 8oz Blue, then it was real slow after that . I got a couple of whites and then a channel before I moved to another spot, I got nothing there, then I just rode around and looked for a while, finally anchored on another spot and after 30 minutes got a 19 lb. 6 oz blue and that was it for the day. The water temp was 87..... , no current that I could see, that little breeze we had made the heat easier to deal with. I'll post a pic under big fish of the month thread

Went this morning, fished from daylight to 12 noon, It was pretty slow again. I started out at the same spot as usual and got a blue, a channel, and a white. Just like last time the first fish was the biggest at 31 lbs 11 oz. Then I moved to another spot and got a 18 pounder right off the bat, and when I was releasing him, another rod loaded up , I set the hook felt like a pretty decent fish but he wrapped me up on something and I ended up breaking the line. I thought I was in the right spot, but that was the last good hit I got there. Then I moved again and got a small flathead and that was it for today. The water surface temp has come down to 80, no current at all today. It was nice to be on the water, it had been a few days....

Fished tillery Fri. night with my cousin and we ended up with two blues, a 17 lb. and a 12 lb. blue. lost a nice one around 30 lb. becasue of a stick sticking out of the bank that he found and wrapped around it. Took my two boys back Sat. night and we got 5 blues, all in the teens, biggest was around 15 lb. or so. live perch is the ticket right now it seems.

Went to Tillery this morning and did alright. Caught 3 blue 5,28,30lber. Lost one that was at 40+. All fish caught on floatrigs. They wouldn't touch a bottom bait today. The water up river is pretty muddy. Alot of debris floating down the river. Water up river cooled off to 76*. Down the lake is still 80*. Saw one other boat this morning.

Jsimpson and I went out on Tillery Saturday afternoon 4pm fished till 8am Sunday morning. I caught my biggest cat to date. A 22lb Blue.
What a beast. This is the biggest cat I have seen up close. We also hooked up a 5lb flathead. Which I am about to to fry up tomorrow night. I have never tried flathead before. Thanks Jeff for taking your time to show me the big cat ropes!!! I cant wait to get my own pontoon and start the hunt. I am hooked as hooked can get! I am posting the pic below. We only hooked up on these 2 cats, we had a lot of bites. Bait was scarce the first hour on the water, but finally found some up river... Thanks again Jeff!

Joe

Nice fish john. I also went Wednesday night. I got 4 flats and 2 blues. they went (flats) 48,37,32,28. A new pb flathead for me. I also lost 4, one of them felt to be over 60lbs. Just could not get him off the bottom. After 25 min. the hook just came out . I had 2 doubles on the flats. The blues were 37,29. Also lost one blue in the anchor rope that went over 40lbs. What a nice night to be on the water. Got to experience the power of a big flat. Man those fish have the muscle . The 5 biggest fish went 183 lbs.

Went back Thursday for round two but the fish wasn't there like they was wed. I did get 3 flats (36,27,17) and 4 blues (25,18,20,22). Rookie12 got 2 of them blues. The flats did not want to bite until 3:30 am. Still a very nice night on the water. Its getting colder, ya'l know what that means...

Went to tillery last night, dang I hung a hog right off and he got in the anchor rope after about 8 to 10 minutes on the bottom couldn't do anything with it,yep then he broke off still didn't expect him to break off,I caught a 22.8lb flathead good fight but wasn't close to what I had on earlier. Then fished for blues in the mornin and had one looked to be 25 or 30 at back of boat I think he got in prop and he broke off haven't had that much problem with fish breaking off since catfishrus told me to go to heavier leaders which helped a lot.Met live baiter this mornin taking out had a good talk with him, good to meet you live baiter, and I think he did better than me but thats no surprise lol.

When to Tillery Thursday and did alright. Did not catch a flathead all night. I did get 2 blues ( 21,17). I decide to stay until morning. I got 2 flathead's in the morning. (29,36) Fishing was tuff for me. I guess there mouths are sore from all the people fishing for them. Still had a great time being out there versus being at work... Did get to meet J Simpson out there and talked with him. Nice guy- Nice to have met you Jeff.

Man, what a morning! The flats were really biting. That big fish really whipped my @##. LOL. Too bad he broke my line. I had three rods go down while I was reeling in an 18 lb. flathead. Fish let go of all three of those baits by the time I got to them. The 18 # flat was the only fish I boated. I had a real big fish hit just after I got the 18# in the net. Got the big fish close to the surface but never saw him and was ready to reach for the net when all of the sudden he dove straight down. I guess he saw the running light. I couldn't slow him down. He got hung on the bottom and I still had the 18# flat in the boat. Gave him slack hoping he would swim free but that didn't happen. Broke line above swivel. Took a picture and weighed 18# and released it. I may try to post a picture tommorrow to start big fish of the month. Moved to another spot where another big fish hit. I was looking the other way. Drag started screaming. When I turned around to look, the rod had just come back up with the line cut somewhere above the swivel. The drag was set tight and that fish still made it scream. I think it would take at least a 50 or 60 lb. fish to do that. Got first bit at 0645 and last bite at 0820. Got big fish bites at two different spots. Fished from 0400 to 0900.

Went to Tillery last night and did some scouting, for some Blues. Found a good spot with some fish on it and decided to give it a try- ended up with four Blues. Biggest one was 44 pounds. I think that I might have a spot for the tournament....

Didn't want to post anything before the tour. Thursday evening I got 10 flats from Tillery biggest was at 30lbs. Most in the 20's. I had a hard time bringing in those fish. Considering my right arm is only at 40% and had a pulled back muscle. They were putting a hurting on me.

Fished at Tillery all night. Got a new PB flathead that was 37 lbs. Also got 2 other flats and a blue. They were 25 lbs. and 12.5 lbs. The blue was 10 lbs. Plenty of threadfins around lighted piers but getting decent size perch is getting harder.
