Tom [River Rat] who is now a brand new Granddad congrats showed up Monday at the Creekhouse I was back in Aiken getting my insurance straight so he caught some bait while I was headed back. We headed out about 3pm and the wind was howling so we tried to drift in Wyboo and Tom caught a 17lb Blue that we released and then the cold front that Tom brought with him
![]() moved in the wind switched 180 degrees and the temp dropped 10 degrees in less than an hour we tried a couple more drifts but the wind was nuts thought Tom did catch a 10lb blue so we tried catching some bait and we caught a couple of white perch but they weren't biting much either the weather was getting worse so we set up early for some night fish getting out of the wind was a priority and easy run back to the House. We had all the gar and turtle bites you could want Tom did catch a nice channel and after the rain and then the temp going down to 42 we called it a day Tuesday was more of the same lots of swirling winds up to 20mph we did catch a nice blue in the afternoon and we finely gave up and tried bait fishing after 4 or 5 spots we hit a good one and loaded up with some nice bream and perch and we headed in to the Creek to a spot that is in the bend of the creek out of the wind mostly we put out 8 live bait and 2 cut baits and then the gar moved in and Tom had some fun with them we did a bait check replaced those lost to the gar and right at 9pm on one of the lightest rigs we were using we got a hit Tom fought it for about 5 minutes on 25lb test but it did have a 50lb leader and when we got it in the boat it was a 42lb Flathead and she had to be full of eggs she couldn't lay flat on her belly and she was wide. We got some pics and turned her loose we got one more channel cat about 6lbs on a live bream and called it a night

I had a great time and wish I could have stayed longer but duty calls. The wind loves me because everytime I go down it shows up.
