You mean I got cheated out of a cheeseburger ??? Just kidding, Doug did say something about getting a cheeseburger next time so you can bet your arse there WILL be a next time. Doug said that he woke us up at 5am, that's true; but what he didn't tell you that he woke us up by blasting OBAMA on the TV. If that don't get you up and want to get the hell out of the house I don't know what will . I got to meet CHIEF Jim and his wife Penny, GREAT people, Jim's got some talent with those wagons, I was impressed! And the golf cart, priceless! Doug took us out to all of his favorite spots and put us on the fish! "Including my PB" Weather it was catching bait, blues, strippers,(or was that supposed to be ) "Santee Marlin", flat-heads, or channels, there was never a dull moment. Not only was this MY trip of a lifetime it was a GREAT learning experience, I have never drift fished before in my life, I know how to know!!! It's always good to be able to pick someones brain and learn things from someone that been to the "Rodeo" more times than I ever will in my life time . All jokes aside, if any of y'all can get the time to take Doug up on his offer, you would be CRAZY not to.
Great lake + Great boat + Great fishing + Great PEOPLE = Great TIME!!!! Thanks Doug!

PS: For at least the next 3 days, Beastmaster's "NEW" nickname will be "Pinky" !! You can figure it out.

We had a great time and I was listening to Fox News who was blasting obama Shawn and Chuck are some great People and we had a blast but while they did catch a STRIPER while fishing with me all STRIPPER action was after they left the CreekHouse other than a couple of hours on Saturday to smoke and fry some fresh catfish we were on the water they found out how fickle Santee could be Saturday during the day it was basically windless but come sundown the wind was whipping blowing us off of the big water and then the thick fog we had Sunday morning that lasted till about 9am and they got to see the stump field up close and I will let Chuck explain the gar log we almost Hit and how hot it gets on the water with no wind thankfully there are no pic's but Beastmaster704 got a quick start on his summer tan in a big way while we didn't catch any monsters we did catch some good fish and had some fun

Chucks striper

I didn't think it looked right when I spelled it Doug, I'll remember 1 p next time. Jerry you are right, that is a LOT of water by area. The deepest spot we were in was around 35ft, but there is a lot of areas that's only 2 to 4ft deep that takes up a lot of space. If I aint mistaken it got up around 90 both days out on the water. Guys, we fished so much you know the feeling you get from being on the water in the waves for a while, then standing still on the dry land? I was waiting on my oldest son to get ready for school this morning and was smoking a cig on the back porch rocking back and forth with the "land waves".

We caught 2 small flatheads and missed a couple they were biting funny mouthing the bait but not getting the hook but the blues were crushing them the 26lb blue Chuck caught just slammed my Lucky rod with a bream on it and I thought it was a flathead just from the way it hit and we weren't far from where Tom caught that 42lb flat earlier in the week

The gar log Doug is talking about was funny! We were going to start drift fishing again and we were heading towards the stumps, Doug asked me to keep an eye out for any stumps that we might run over and to point the other way so he would know which way to go. Well while we were approaching the stumps, I pounted at "something" and quickly remembered what Doug had told me to do and pointed away, however at that same time the "log" quickly moved out of our way then I relized it was a HUGE gar. Dam thing looked like a big tree branch!
