Want to say thanks for the info on santee doug158. We got down on thursday 31 and fished through saturday nite. The wind was terrible, didnt get to fish but once during the daylight hours because the lake was like the ocean, but did fish each nite in the trees where it was much more calm. The group i was with came to fill their coolers with channels and they did just that. I on the other hand was fishing for blues and we ended up with two over 30 and five in the 20's. It was for sure a fun experience being on moultrie for the first time, u can tell that lake holds some big fish. I know that was the first of many trips to santee.

well its been a busy few days Chuck came over for a day of fishing but the bite is still slow but we got him a 22 and a 12lb blue and a 5lb channel then we took a quick trip with Captain Darryl and we caught 4 blues and 2 stripers which we couldn't keep Lisa got a 29lb blue for big fish of the day and this morning Lisa and I headed out early with the messed up weather of the last couple of days we figured they have to eat sooner or later and they were predicting thunderstorms for today but we figured the fish were already wet so we decided to try it anyway the wind was stroking so I set up a drift off of tator creek and 10 min into it a rod hammered down and started stripping drag turned out to be a 45lb blue we set up again and got a 22lb blue set up one more and got an 18lb blue then the weather ran us off the 45lber was released all others are now awaiting their turn in the fryer we have a half day left till we have to go home so we will try again in the morning

Lisa with my 45lb blue
