I prefer cut bait over any, but I was thinking about catching a few chubs, a few frogs, some limburger cheese, in the blender, then adding in some cornmeal to thicken it up and some cotton off of cattails so it stays on the hook good. Sounds like what cats like other than the cotton but it never seemed to bother them. Any opinions whether you think it will work or not??

Might work but... take a ribeye steak, baked potato,Garden salad and put it in the blender and turn it into a thick blob.....sound appealing? I know you can catch all kind of fish on mixed bait but for me it's mostly been channel cats. fresh and natural catches me plenty of both blues and channel cats.

If you're fishing for channels, it would probably work. Although, my wife would not be real happy with me for using the blender for that. I agree with Jerry that fresh cut bait will catch blues, flatheads AND channels. All right, Jerry didn't say flatheads, but I hear they will eat cutbait sometimes.

Ive caught alot of flatheads on cutbait but none over 30lbs. didnt really comment on flatheads because it's a subject I know little about
flatheads I've caught were when fishing for blues. gona do a little live baiting some this year but havnt yet.

flathead's will eat cut or live but if you don't know how to fish the bait your gonna have a bad night/day. 1st flathead's are night feeders. live bait on a bed will be picked up. cut bait you need to fish below his jam/feeding hole. cut eel will pick up flattys. there like m&m's to a flathead. but if you fish the top of his jam with cut and live on the sides and bottom of the jam you will get nothing. live bait in the jam and cut below the jam
p.s. anything can work |
