I hired captain hughs for monday and tues with my father. Captain hughs and Randy put us on some nice fish monday. We landed 7 fish over 30 lbs with the biggest coming in at 45lbs on monday. Tuesday was a different day with giants on the mind. Huge baits was the order of the day. Sadly the bite was slow due to the weather pattern we was against but i never lost faith in captain hughs. He knows the james river very well and for a first time james river fisherman i made a great choice by hiring him. He allowed us to fish all we wanted too. Daylight to dark for two days and i hated the thoughts of leaving. His rates are very reasonable for the amount of fishing we done. In fact im going back and fish with him again soon. Captain hughs put us on big fish and left the rest up to us. Thats all a guide can do. I was very satisfied with his service and would highly recommend him.
