That is one heck of a fish there brother! Congratulations!!

I would have hated to get bumped off the mountain by a 62 pounder, but this fish deserves "BIG FISH OF THE MONTH"!!!

Ye Rookie has stepped up to the 75lb club. Theres only afew around here in that club. Myself(Two Stars) Rookie, one star, Eric, one star, and Chris and Dennis, one star. Lets see is someone can bring in an 80lber this year. Who ever does will geta gold leaf cluster for thier collar. Those fish are out there, it just takes time on the water to find them.

I think Livebaiter already has the gold leaf cluster from the 80 pound club!!

I guess a state record makes you Commander in Chief!!

Thanks fellas, but I can't take the crecdit for that one. All I did was reel him in. Eric put us on them that night. He is the man at Badin for consistently finding the big fish. He spends the time on the water to stay on top of them.

"....He is the man at Badin for consistently finding the big fish..."

Well said.

He is, in my opinion, one of the top catmen in the Carolinas.

Don't sell yourself short Rookie. Hooking them is one thing, putting them in the boat is another. Nice work, and thank you for the release of that whopper.

Eric found them and hung this one up, so I had to step in and unhang it for him and he let me finish him off. It was definately a team effort that night with all the fish we got. We worked together good that night in fighting and landing all the fish. We did a good jbo at clearing rods, dodginf anchor ropes and in general just helping make sure the fish got in the boat. And of course I would release that fish again, I want to catch him when he's 100 lb. The only way that will happen is to let him grow on up! I probably learned more on this trip than on other trips in the past. It's nice to have someone else in the boat that truly hunts down big fish. Mywhole entire mindset on hunting big fish was changed that night as far as boat position goes, and the whole setup. These were ideas that I had thought about before and practiced to some extent, but not practiced 100%. I will from now on though! Eric is one of the top guys in the state for catching big fish consistently. He can read the conditions better than anyond I know.
