Badin Lake tourney results for 11/7/2009

We had 14 teams come out to badin today. The morning started with a major fog out until around 9.00 AM and then the sun started to burn it off for a beautiful day of catfishing...clear blue bird skies with a little wind. The bite was a tuff one. We had 12 teams to make the weigh in.

Here is the run down
1st Mark Kimball(buck) and Johnny Myers with 12.0 lbs and big fish of 6.2 lbs winning $280.00 (210 for 1st and 70 on big fish). 270 pts
2nd place went to John Dowd and Chad Harris with 11.2 lbs winning $126.00. 240 pts
3rd Place went to Eric Fincher(livebaiter) and Michael Chandler(catfishrus) with 11.0 lbs winning $84.00. 230pts
4th went to Team Rookie12 and Fisherhead with 9.4 lbs 220 pts
5th went Jerry Arnold (Jerry 9497)with 8.0 lbs 210 pts
6th was a 3 way tie between Team Country boy/STUMPY,Team Queen(Goodtimes), and the Brian Moore and Jeremy team with all three weighing in with 7.4 lbs 200pts
7th place went to team Circle Hook with 7.2lbs 190pts
8th Place went to Katsandsuds with 5.8 lbs 180pts
9th place went to Team gearhead with 3.0 lbs 170pts
10 th place went to Team leather neck with 2.8 lbs 160pts

We had two teams that didnt make weigh in. Team Talkingquack and Team Outdoor addictions. 110 pts

Wells thats your full run down on how the day ended...it was a very tuff bite but turned out to the most competive tourney we've had...very tight finish! Thanks fellows for coming out...as always I enjoy these events. Ol' Lady Badin can be harsh sometimes....today she had high preasure...I heard striper fisherman struggling and the bass tourney today also struggled. Just a tuff day for all but very competitive. Congrates to Mark and Johnny on a hard fought victory!

The bite was tough in our tournament too. I just got lucky and caught a solid fish. Them 20something fish are worth their weight in gold come tourney time

Great tournament!!!!!! That was the most honest and fair tournament I've ever fish. I ended up catching 12 channels, one bull head and one lil flat head.

Nope sorry the channels were bigger. I think i saw to bull heads get weight in tho.

Yes we had some bullheads weighed in...it was that tuff for some good teams at badin. My team only caught 3 fish and all three came after lunch. The high preasure yesterday killed the bite. We caught our fish drifting...we had alot of lite taps that was half hearted hits. Pre fishing dont help at badin for me...never has..here today and gone tomorrow in most cases. I think yesterday was one of them days where after weigh in ..we all wanted another hour. Everybody was one 10 lb fish away from winning all day long.

The first 2 fish we caught had mud on there belly so i knowed it was going to be a tuff day so i shorting some leaders to a foot long . and difted the same 400 yds all day long. pulled 10 rods. its was a nice day to be out on the lake even if the bite was off. See yall dec. 5

I just wanted to say that I enjoy these tournaments alot and fishing them with all of you. Most of all thanks to Michael for this tournament series. Sometimes you win and some times you don't- but, most of all we are out there doing what we enjoy and doing it with good people. Congratulations to Buck's team for the win

Dang sounds like a tough bite for sure. We had a tment this year where only 1 fish was caught all day so I know how it is. Micheal if you and Eric would quit sore lipping all of those bigguns yall might get somein the tments. Congrats to Team Buck sounds like yall appapted and found what worked.
