Badin 22 Dec
My brother was in town for a few days and we got to fish yesterday morning. Got to Badin at 445 am and the boat would not start, dead start battery after I had charged it the night before. Hooked the jump wires to the trolling motor battery and it turned over okay I thought, but still would not crank. Pulled the emergency can of starting fluid out and still nothing. Then pulled plugs and checked fuel system, had spark and fuel to carbs. As a last ditch effort, I hooked directly to the trolling motor battery and the engine spun faster and fired right up.
After all this and catching bait, it was 8 am before we began fishing. Very tough bite all day, nothing agressive. About 10, he had what appeared to be a dink tapping the bait a couple of times, he reeled down on him and hooked up, felt like a small fish, and about half way to the boat the fish blew up and began to fight. Rod doubled over and pulling drag. Got it directly under the boat and came unbuttoned. Had to leave at 1 so we moved to last spot at 1145 and setup one last place. Couple small channels and at 1250, a rod doubled over and the drag was screaming off on a huge chunk of bait. He landed a 31lb and new personal best just minutes before we had to pack up and leave. He and I fishing together never do well. Finally got him on a quality fish, and I think I was more excited then he was.

Sounds like a good trip to me! Anytime you can get a 30+lb fish its worth the price of admission

Way to go K&S.
I love watching someone shaking a little after catching a new PB fish. It's priceless for me and very addicting for them  .
