I've had several calls about this tournament and it looks like it's going to be a great turnout already. Tell all your catfishing friends. Looks like there's going to be some great competition.

I've got a few calls and emails on this tournament and it looks like there's going to be a great turnout. Just a reminder to make sure you reserve that room for the weekend. Black's Camp is starting to fill up. There are other places like Canal Lakes Resort, Hill's Landing, Harry's Fish Camp and Randolph's Landing just to name a few. Can't wait to see everyone there! Good fishing.

Look down three posts. I posted that info a few minutes ago. Don't have all the details yet, but the guy who caught the fish called me early this morning.

OK, I got the lowdown. Team Bone Island Custom Rods won the tourney. The big fish was actually 87+ pounds, not 90, I think Tommy said, and they weighed in a 40+ pound flattie with it. It was good enough for first place and big fish. The big blue was kept well in an aqualung system, and released back into the Santee. Congratulations to Tommy Morehead and crew on the win. That was one hawg of a fish. I hope someone posts pics of it soon! The fish were caught on cut bream, and the flattie on a cut shellcracker, drifting across deep water dropoffs.

It was a 86 lbs and some change on the big blue.....Impressive catch to say the least. Nobody else even close....not even the guides. The big blues wasnt biting....next biggest blue was in the 30s....word on the radio all night long was the fish wasnt biting. They won with 124lbs and some change for a two fish limit. My team took second with 69 lbs of flatheads and some change....so they smoked the field by 55lbs plus. Im pretty sure we had second place big fish with a 39 lb plus flathead. Omar has the pictures.

Awesome job man!! Congrats on second place under tough conditions.

That can be a heartbreaker rolling in there with an otherwise winning stringer only to see someone pul an 87 pounder out of the livewell.

You took home a check...and that is awesome.

86.45lb Blue and the Flathead was 38.1. They caught over 300lbs of fish and were culling in under 2hrs. They had 3 blues under 20 and 20 or so 25-30 lbs. They lost 2 that broke mono at the boat over 40lbs. I Talked with Tommy aka Catfishwidowmakr and his partner JD Champion yesterday and got all the facts. They were just really glad to be back together fishing as a team again after JD's illness. They had JD's grandson there to and he was putting the smack down on some 20's and 30's. So the bite was one over in there secret drifting spot. No one around for miles !

JD is definitely a great fisherman, and Tom catches big 'uns too. JD is training that grandson well!! Hope some pics of the winning fish will surface soon!

Very Impressive....20X25=500 lbs
86lber
38lber
total 624 lbs of fish

I dont know if the whole field of remaining teams (25)caught that many fish. I guess when you on em...you on em! Had a chance at catching 700lbs too! Thats not even counting the little under 20 lbers. WOW!!!! Great catch and congradulation to those guys. Just wondering why didnt you fish the event? Omar put on a great tourney as usually. I enjoyed it to say the least....very respectable folks to fish with. Just wondering here...what did they stop at marker 12 for? Any facts on that...I got some. I seen them come into that secret spot at dusk dark.

Don't know alot about that area, is marker 12 a good spot in the summer? Does it normally hold big fish? Don't mean to ask so many questions, but I can't find any info on that area and yall seem to know something the rest of us don't...
