I was just wondering if anyone has one of the Aqua-Vu's, or has ever used one. I just sometimes want to make sense of some things that I see on the depth finder, and thought this may be the way to do it. Thanks for the input.

I have one and its fun to play with in clear water but when it gets murky you have to almost run it into what you want to look at to see it

It wouldn't be of much use on the Yadkin chain. Water isn't clear enough.

I got another brand of the same thing,,well it needs very very clear water (generally the one lake I can use it on has a 20ft visibility factor) and you can only see 2 or 3 feet in the daytime,,,night time is a different story--only 6 inches or so because the infrared lights attract amobes and other tiny organisms and they flock to the lights like bugs to a lantern. Personally I think they are a waste of money.

My Dad bought one a few years ago afyer he rolled his jon boat to assist in finding the gear lost. The river he was in was stained and you couldn't see a foot into the water. He lost close to $1000 in gear and paid $100 for the cam (display model) and we recovered all of his rods, one tackle box, and the deepcycle battery. So, all in all it was worth the cash for the cam.
I saw shad, bream, a carp, and a small mouth bass. The river averages 6' in the spot we were looking and the bottom is covered in rebar and steel cable so it's not a place you want to jump in... I haven't ever tried the cam at night but, in the daytime the glare of the sun makes it extremely hard to see. I fixed this by putting a shirt over my head to block the sun.
