I'm waiting too! If the bite on the Cape Fear was off as bad as it was on the Pee Dee... sigh.

The tournament went well I thought. Everybody weighed in fish. All but one fish weighed in was over 10lbs. Just didn't get any of the big boys and girls to come out and play. The bite was consistent for us from the first spot to the last. Usually a couple bites and one fish per spot. Even the "larger" fish weren't hitting hard though. We got all our fish on eel, not even one hit on shad. I did have one fish break me off in a tree that hit a live bluegill. I really had a blast and look forward to doing it again sometime soon. Sutton Lake here we come!!!! I'm gonna say it'll take over 40lbs to win that one and could easily be take closer to 60lbs......can't wait

We had our second tournament of the year last night. We only had one other boat show up but we're just getting started I guess. The bite just wasn't happening last night. Randy and myself ended up with one that went 17-7 and Aaron and Dave had a channel cat that was 4 or 5lbs. It was a tough night that's for sure. As good as they bit the past few weeks I really thought we'd get them but it just didn't happen. Oh well, that's why they call it fishing

I know the feeling Fatflat, The Yadkin chain has gaint fish but the tournements dont prove it. Keep fishing the tournements and the boats will pick up. we used to only have 7-8 boats now we have closer to 20 and growing.

I'm gonna be fishing this one with the wife, time to see how the mini jon does with all my crap plus a livewell and the multitude of bait and other junk I bring.........Oh and I almost forgot, those two 50lb flats I'm gonna have sticking out of the livewell

Well, last night was a first for me. Everybody in the tourney got their money back Man it was bad. Me and the wife, Randy and his partner didn't even get bit in 8 hours. My new anchor didn't hold ANYWHERE, bet we spent 2 hours trying to find a place the anchor would hold....really had to bypass some really good looking areas I found last night. Oh well, get a new anchor and come back to them later. I even ran into a tree last night!! It was just one of those nights for me and everybody else included. What a stinker, I'm just happy to be fishing Sutton in July, should be hot but that's what I said last time.

We had our 4th tournament of the year. Had out best turnout so far and by far the best bunch of fish we've seen in our little series.

Here's the results:

1st-Nick and Murphy-2 fish 54-6, Big Fish 28-6
2nd-Chasin' Cats crew-2 fish 33-8, Big Fish 27-4
3rd-Phillip and Jamie-2 fish 19-6, Big Fish 10-6
4th-Steve and his wife-2 fish 17-0 Big Fish 12-0
5th-Randy, Wes, and Braden-12-6 Big Fish 6-6
6th-Dickie and Aaron-1 fish 7-8

I'd just like to thank everyone that came out, it was a great event and it's just gonna get better. And once again congratulations to Nick and Murphy for bringing in a heck of a weight in only their third trip to Sutton ever...way to go guys

It was certainly our best tournament to date. Kinda gives me hope that this will all work out.

I tell ya what though, getting your butt handed to ya like that on your "home lake" sure is a tough pill to swallow. I know you can't win 'em all but man I was hoping to at least give the guys a run for their money but oh well, there's always next time
