1 1 '10: Good start
Went back north for a few hours fishin'. Fished 6 1/2 hours and caught 14 cats. Caught 10 1/2# and 15 1/2# flatties and 12 nice blues. Again, our average weight was 10 to 11#. Water temperature was 44.5 degrees with wind out of the north/west. The wind got stiffer as the day wore on. All fish were caught on threadfin and gizzard shad. We caught the first 9 fish anchored. They went into a frenzy for a few minutes and at one time we had 3 flopping on the floor of the boat at the same time. When the bite tapered off, we decided to drift a while. Not wanting to change my rigs out, we drifted with 3 ounce no roll sinkers rather than the slinkys. They drifted just as well as the slinky weights and we had zero hangups. Caught 5 drifting. Countryboy79 was anchored beside us and he caught a PILE of fish too! Man, that dude can fish! The last pic is of Wesley landing a fish in his boat. Bait was everywhere! Now, if I can just learn to make that new 7 foot net open up, we'll be in good shape!

Nice report Bill...you fellows having some good action. Im kind of amazed at the flathead bite but I believe when we get all this current going on it washes them out of there wintering holes sometimes. Way to kick start the year off.
